About Kate
Why I began coaching
Through more than 16 years of strategic management, teaching, and research, I developed my passions for leadership development and solving complex problems.
I began coaching to become a better leader. I discovered that by asking powerful questions and becoming an excellent listener, people around me responded with brilliant insights and solutions, often to their own surprise.
My passion for helping people expand their minds and access their potential led me to launch my coaching practice in 2019, where I focus on immersive client experiences.
Experience and training
I am an award-winning leader experienced in developing high-performing individuals and leading cross-functional teams to navigate complexity and deliver sustainable, high-impact solutions.
As a lifelong learner, I believe that action and experience are the best forms of education. I obtained my Masters and PhD while concurrently developing McMaster University’s first-ever Office of Sustainability and then first-of-its-kind Academic Sustainability department – two departments receiving national acclaim for their impact and innovation.
I serve on community boards and have held several fellowships, including Civic Action’s DiverseCity Fellowship -- an award-winning program committed to building inclusive leaders.
I am trained at the Co-Active Training Institute and pursuing my Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential.
